DATA CENTER

TYPES OF DATA CENTER:                  

                   There are different types of data center, based on the field it works. Which includes:

 

*Cloud data center - An cloud data center contains your information which can be accessed through                                       internet.

*Enterprise data center- An  Enterprise data center contain multiple data centers, each with a duty of   having  key functions.

 *Web hosting data center, etc...

Based on components and specifications a data center is divided into four types:

• Tier 1 data center
• Tier 2 data center
• Tier 3 data center
• Tier 4 data center.  In which tier 4 data center has the most complex components.

 

DATA CENTER STORAGE:

           

            Data center storage refers to the components in a data center, which is capable of storing data. Which may be hard disks, etc...

 

DATA CONNECTIVITY:

            

           If a company hold several data centers across the world each data centers are interconnected through  Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology which uses optic fibers (cables) to make a connection. This is the most efficient way to connect data centers. The most interesting fact is that these cables are also placed under the oceans. There are approximately 378 cables whose length is about 1.2 million kilometers at the bottom of the ocean bed.
