TELEVISION (TV) :
During 20th century there were many persons involved in the invention and development of Television. Philo Taylor Fransworth was the one among them, who invented the first electronic television in 1927, while he was only 21 years old, where there is no electricity in his house until he was 14 years old. In the following years the television had undergone several changes. Now we have flat screen LCD and LED TVs.
PICTURE TUBE:
Picture tube is a part of television which consist of an electron gun that fires electrons continuously on different areas of the screen where the screen is coated with a substance that glows when electron strikes and produces a picture. The colour TVs which we are using now have picture tube that contain three different electron guns which are used to produce three primary colours Blue, Green and Red, which produce any colour we need.
WHAT HAPPEN WHEN A MAGNET IS BOUGHT NEAR A TV?:
When we place a magnet close to a TV the magnet will collapse the colours produced by the TV, because the magnetic field (the area having magnetic power) created by the magnet disturbs the path traveled by the electron hence, the electron from the electron gun will strike the different part of the screen and there will be no clear picture produced, to solve this problem the TV itself have degaussing coil which removes small magnetic fields and helps to produce clear image but, if there is strong magnetic field there will be permanent damage in the TV screen.
