MANUFACTURING OF JEANS AND ITS EFFECTS

How jeans is manufactured?
CROP:

          A crop is a plant which is grown to satisfy the needs of human beings, there are two types of crops *food crop and cash crop*, in which food crop is grown for eating purposes while cash crop is grown for selling purpose as to gain profit.

COTTON:

          Cotton is a fluffy, soft cash crop which is cultivated for many purposes such as to extract Cotton seed oil, making cloths, bedsheets, towels, etc. There are about four types of cotton in which each have different uses. Egyptian cotton is the World's finest cotton as it is hand-picked to ensure high quality. Cotton also ensures countries economy. 

Disadvantages of cotton:

          Most of the cotton grown is inorganic due to extreme use of pesticides and insecticides to avoid the insects from spoiling the crop, it also uses a large amount of water for its growth.

BT COTTON:

          On the other hand there is a genetically modified cotton variety called Bt cotton, which can produce insecticide (kills insects) on its own, but it is a costlier variety, and it is also man made. It is used in many countries like Australia. India.USA.etc.

JEANS:

         Jeans is commonly used cloth by everyone from youth to aged, it is made from a fabric called Denim, which is 100% pure cotton, there are also cotton and synthetic fiber mixture in Denim fabrics. The jeans get its blue color from a dye called indigo in there are both natural and synthetic (man made) Indigo. According to UN (United Nations)  about Jeans to produce a pair of jeans (1) it requires about 10,000 liters of water from cultivation of cotton to processing and addition of dye.
